The Potthouse welcomes hobby and semi - professional potters to use the workspace for handbuiding and throwing, for half or whole days, and offers a discount to those able to commit to regular potting.

Total beginners are also welcome and we offer an 8 week course of hand building pottery lessons to get you started. After the course is completed beginners are encouraged to hone their newfound skills in the pottery, joining in with the more experienced potters under the watchful eye of the resident potters - help is always at hand.

In 2019 our 8 week beginner's courses will run Tuesday afternoons from 2 p.m., Wednesday afternoons from 2 p.m. and Wednesday and Thursday Evenings 6.30 pm. There will be no beginners classes during Half Term.

Also in 2019 our independent potter sessions will now be extended to Wednesday evenings 6.30 - 9 p.m. as well as our usual Thursday evenings.

There are no qualifications to work towards, this is fun potting but with purpose! Throwing can be taught on an individual basis after completion of the begginer's course. (See below)

Those unsure whether potting is for them can have a taster session of 1 1/2 - 2 hours duration. This can be taken at any time the pottery is open and allows the participant to try simple potting as well as have a go on the wheel if desired.

Taster sessions can also be used by groups as a fun way to spend time with friends.

Throwing tuition is available and can be arranged by contacting Diane direct on 01242 673655. Vouchers can be purchased for Diane's sessions and make great gifts.

We also offer team building/ workplace recreation sessions.

The Potthouse runs Raku sessions from time to time - a fun and exciting way to fire pots with lots of flames and smoke!

The Potthouse welcomes children and we run school holiday fun sessions by arrangement, please contact us for details. You can have your child's birthday party here too, please see tariff for details.

The Potthouse is also a great venue for children's parties and when the children have finished their pots they can have their birthday tea here too.
