Designed for complete Beginners, this course covers the foundational Hand-Building Pottery skills necessary to create a range of projects including creating with coils, slabs and moulds as well as learning decorative techniques including using coloured slips, underglaze, stoneware glazes, paper resist, sgraffito and more! 8-Week ‘Level-Up’ Hand-Building Course

NEW for Autumn 2026: Designed as a follow-on from our 6-Week Beginners Hand-Building course, this new ‘Level-Up’ course will build on your existing skills and push your pottery practice to a higher level! In this course we will explore new hand-building techniques that will allow you to create more intricate and larger pieces. We will once again cover a range of greenware decorative techniques as well as pushing your glazing skills in the final session of the course!

6-Week Beginners Throwing Course

Every Wednesday Evening, 18:00-20:30

Suitable for complete beginners, this course offers in-depth tutoring of all of the foundational skills of throwing pottery on the wheel. Over 6 sessions you will guided by a professional potter through the processes of wedging, centering, coning, pulling and turning clay. In your fourth session you will choose four of your favourite pieces to be bisque fired and then in your final session you will learn to glaze your pieces which will then be fired and kept forever!
£315 per person

6-Week ‘Level-Up’ Throwing Course

Monday Evenings, 18:00-20:30
Designed as a follow-on from our 6-Week Beginners Throwing course, this new ‘Level-Up’ course will push your throwing practice and learning to a higher level! In this course you will be guided by a professional potter through throwing larger and more complex forms as well as new decorative techniques to finish your work. In the final ‘glazing session’ of your course you will be introduced to more complex glazing techniques to achieve a range of results.
£315 per person

Throwing Foundation: Weekend Intensive

Saturday & Sunday, 10:00-16:00
In this condensed throwing course you will experience the in-depth learning of a multi-week course over a single weekend! Whether you are a complete beginner or a returner seeking a better foundational understanding of throwing, this course is for you! On day one you will learn to wedge and throw clay, creating cyclinders, convex and concave forms. On day two you will turn your pots on the pottery wheel before learning how to make and attach handles to your pieces.
£200 per person
Includes the tuition of 4 sessions and the bisque and glaze firing of two pieces, in a glaze of your choice!
